Indesit, Hotpoint & Ariston cooking repairs
Brighton

Tell us exactly which cooking function has failed: a fan oven, grill, second cavity or electric hob zone. We assess suitable electrical repairs on existing appliances. Give the fuel type first for a dual-fuel cooker so the enquiry goes to the appropriate service.

Visits are confirmed by full postcode, appliance, fault and safe access.

Cooking repairs · Brighton

The grill has stopped heating

Describe whether heating is absent across the grill or only in one area, based on the last use. The grill element, selector and associated connections need safe assessment. Do not touch or remove an element, even if it appears cool. If protection tripped, leave the appliance off and report that separately.

For Brighton, start with the electric ovens, cookers & hobs and explain what happened on its last use. We assess Indesit, Hotpoint, Ariston and Hotpoint-Ariston enquiries against the complete model, access and requested work. Include your full property postcode, any displayed warning and whether a kitchen door or plinth restricts access. The team will confirm the visit arrangements and charges; an online request is the first step, rather than an appointment confirmation.

Details that help
shape this enquiry.

These are symptom discussions to prepare for an assessment, rather than claims about jobs carried out in this area.

01 / REPAIR ENQUIRY

The grill has stopped heating

Describe whether heating is absent across the grill or only in one area, based on the last use. The grill element, selector and associated connections need safe assessment. Do not touch or remove an element, even if it appears cool. If protection tripped, leave the appliance off and report that separately.

02 / REPAIR ENQUIRY

The fan is noisy or does not move normally

Identify whether the sound comes from the cooking fan or cooling area and which oven mode was selected. A motor, obstruction or mounting problem may need checking. Let the oven cool and do not remove the fan cover. Stop use for scraping, overheating or an electrical trip.

03 / REPAIR ENQUIRY

The temperature control behaves erratically

Tell us whether the setting changes on its own, the control feels damaged or cooking temperature changed. A user-control problem is not the same as temperature sensing failure. Stop if heating cannot be controlled. Leave hidden adjustments and electrical testing to the assessment.

The name on your appliance matters

Four brands.
Model-specific support.

Indesit, Hotpoint, Ariston and Hotpoint-Ariston enquiries share one booking route. Parts, error codes and service procedures still need to match the actual model.

Independent repair enquiries

Indesit

Laundry and kitchen-appliance enquiries start with the complete model and the stage at which the fault occurs. We assess suitable existing Indesit appliances, including integrated models, and confirm the requested work before arranging a visit.

Independent repair enquiries

Hotpoint

From a dishwasher that will not empty to an oven with a failed cooking function, describe the appliance and symptom together. The full Hotpoint model and serial information help identify the right assessment and any suitable parts.

Independent repair enquiries

Ariston

Still using an older Ariston kitchen appliance? Send its rating-label details and tell us what changed. Age, condition, access and parts availability guide the repair decision; the brand badge alone does not identify a replacement component.

Independent repair enquiries

Hotpoint-Ariston

If the label says Hotpoint-Ariston, use that exact name in your enquiry. Combined branding does not make every Hotpoint or Indesit component compatible. A clear model-label photograph helps us check the particular appliance.

A Brassett Ltd provides an independent service. Brand names identify appliances and do not imply manufacturer appointment or affiliation. This is kitchen and laundry appliance support; Ariston heating and water-heating products are outside this service.

Repair guide

Turn a fault into
a useful enquiry.

Choose the brand, appliance and closest symptom. Add the complete warning code if one is shown. These notes help you describe a fault; the repair decision follows assessment.

Only ordinary controls and user-maintenance steps in the exact model manual should be checked at home. Do not remove covers or bypass a safety device.

Your repair notes

Select a symptom to begin.

Record what happened on the last use, rather than repeatedly running an appliance that leaks, overheats or trips the supply.

Advanced fault finderAsk SI

Stop use for a safety concern.

Leaks near electrics, a burning smell, repeated electrical trips or severe mechanical noise need safe assessment. Do not keep resetting protection or trying alternative modes. A suspected gas escape requires the appropriate emergency service.

Read the symptom guide.

The written guidance remains available below, even without the interactive selector.

The fan turns but the oven does not heat

Name the selected mode and say whether the grill or another oven cavity still works. Fan operation does not prove the heating circuit is sound. An element, selector, sensor, connection or control fault may need testing. Let the appliance cool and do not remove internal covers to identify or buy a replacement part.

Only one oven cavity has stopped working

Identify the upper or lower cavity and whether heat, fan, light or controls are affected. Double ovens can use different components in each compartment. Include the complete model and the working functions. Stop use of a cavity with damaged glass, overheated controls or an electrical trip rather than trying alternative modes.

The grill has stopped heating

Describe whether heating is absent across the grill or only in one area, based on the last use. The grill element, selector and associated connections need safe assessment. Do not touch or remove an element, even if it appears cool. If protection tripped, leave the appliance off and report that separately.

Food cooks unevenly or burns unexpectedly

Give the selected temperature, cooking mode and whether the problem affects every use. Door closure, fan operation, sensing and control can change the result. A single cooking result is not proof of a thermostat fault. Explain whether the change followed an interruption, damaged seal or different setting.

The oven door or glass is damaged

Tell us whether the problem is the seal, hinge action, loose glass or an uneven closing position. Do not use an oven with insecure glass or a door that will not close safely. Allow it to cool before taking photographs. Hinge assemblies can be spring-loaded; leave dismantling and alignment to the assessment.

The cooling fan runs for an unusual time

Some fan operation after cooking is normal. Report whether the duration changed, whether it starts from cold and whether controls or nearby cabinets feel unusually hot. The exact model helps distinguish normal cooling from a sensing or control fault. Stop if overheating is suspected and do not disconnect internal fan wiring.

A flashing clock prevents oven operation

Check the ordinary clock or manual-mode procedure in the exact model manual after a power interruption. Different models use different starting arrangements. Tell us whether the display responds and which cooking functions remain unavailable. If normal setup does not restore operation, an electrical assessment may be needed.

An induction zone does not detect cookware

Tell us whether one zone or all zones are affected and whether cookware that previously worked is still recognised elsewhere. Suitability, positioning, control settings and electronics are different considerations. Keep the surface dry using normal user care. Cracked glass, overheating or an electrical trip requires stopping use.

An electric hob zone behaves differently

Describe the affected zone, its setting and whether it now underheats or overheats. Cycling can be normal on some hobs; an unexpected change at familiar settings is more useful evidence. Controls, elements and connections may require testing. Stop use if the zone cannot be controlled or the surface is damaged.

Touch controls will not respond

Check only the normal control-lock procedure stated in the manual and ensure the user surface is dry. Explain whether one control or the whole panel is affected. Repeated pressure or improvised resets will not identify a fault. Do not use cracked glass or an appliance showing overheating or electrical damage.

Heating trips the electrical protection

Stop using the appliance and note the function selected when the trip occurred. A trip immediately on selection differs from one after several minutes of heating. Appliance and supply tests may be necessary. Do not reset the breaker repeatedly or use another mode to finish cooking after an unexplained electrical trip.

The fault involves gas or a dual-fuel model

State the fuel type and whether the request concerns an electrical oven function. Our appliance cooking service excludes gas leaks, supply faults, burner and ignition repairs. A suspected gas escape requires the appropriate emergency service, not a routine booking. Do not attempt to test or adjust a gas connection.

The oven has no response at all

Tell us whether the display, light and any other cavity work. A supply issue and an appliance-control fault require different tests. Check only ordinary controls allowed by the model manual. Do not open electrical covers or touch a damaged isolator; report any recent interruption or work on the installation.

The oven light has stopped working

A lamp issue may be separate from the heating fault, so state whether cooking remains normal. User lamp replacement is appropriate only if the exact manual permits it and its isolation/cooling instructions can be followed. Damaged fittings or a continuing electrical issue require assessment rather than repeated bulb changes.

Conventional mode works but fan mode fails

Describe the selected functions and what remains normal: heat, fan, display or another cavity. Separate circuits and selectors can give different symptoms. Supply the full model and observations from the last use. Do not continue changing modes after a trip or burning smell.

The oven appears to heat when it should be off

Stop using the appliance if heating continues unexpectedly after the ordinary off control. Controls, switching and sensing require safe investigation. Do not bypass switches or open wiring covers. Let the appliance cool and isolate only at a safe accessible point; explain exactly which control was used.

The selected temperature is never reached

Give the mode, temperature setting and cooking result, plus whether the oven indicates it has finished preheating. Heat loss, heating output and sensing/control faults can need different checks. Do not adjust hidden calibration settings or use repeated extended heating cycles as a diagnostic test.

The grill heats only part of its area

Some settings intentionally select part of a grill. Check the ordinary function description in the exact manual and report whether a familiar full-grill setting changed. Element sections, selection and wiring may require testing. Do not touch or remove the element to identify a replacement.

The door seal has split or come loose

Let the oven cool before photographing the visible seal and its location. A seal must match the model and fastening arrangement; a generic strip may be unsuitable. Do not run an oven with a door that cannot close safely. Mention other door or hinge damage when enquiring.

Inner or outer oven glass is loose

Do not use an oven with insecure or damaged glass. Keep clear of sharp edges and let it cool before taking photographs. Door construction and retainers vary by model. Avoid dismantling glass layers or spring-loaded hinges; give the complete model so the appropriate repair can be assessed.

A selector knob or shaft is damaged

Explain whether the knob is loose, cracked or no longer selects a function. The knob and the switch behind it have different roles. Do not use tools to turn a damaged shaft or force a stuck control. Include a photograph and report any overheating or electrical warning.

Several hob zones fail together

Identify whether all zones or a group fail and whether the display stays on. Supply and control arrangements may affect more than one zone. Do not assume that every element has failed at once. Stop for a trip or overheated controls and provide the exact model.

One hob zone does not switch off normally

Stop using the hob if heat continues unexpectedly after its ordinary control is off. Switching and control faults require safe assessment. Allow surfaces to cool and isolate only at a safe accessible point. Do not open the glass assembly or attempt to bypass the control.

The hob glass is cracked

Do not continue using an electric or induction hob with cracked glass. Keep clear of sharp edges and avoid liquid entering the damaged area. Photograph the surface once safe and provide the full model. Glass and sealing arrangements are model-specific and need assessment before repair is agreed.

An induction hob displays a warning

Copy the complete display and identify the affected zone or whole-hob behaviour. Pan, temperature and electronic warnings differ by model; the code alone is not a parts diagnosis. Follow only ordinary settings in the manual. Stop for overheating, cracked glass or an electrical trip.

An oven code appears after cooking starts

Record the letters/numbers and the function selected, plus the approximate time before the warning. The model identifies the correct code information. A returning warning requires assessment, particularly with abnormal heat or a trip. Do not repeatedly cancel the warning to continue cooking.

The display changes after a power interruption

Describe which settings were lost and whether the normal clock/manual setup in the model instructions restores operation. Some changes are routine after an interruption; persistent failures are a separate enquiry. Do not remove a display panel or attempt a wiring reset.

A fault followed kitchen or installation work

Mention movement, cabinet alterations or work on the electrical supply before booking. Access, ventilation and connections may affect the enquiry. Do not pull out a heavy cooker or open its connection box. State the fuel type and electrical function so the request can be checked against the service scope.

Before the visit

A few details.
A better starting point.

Prepare information that is safely accessible. You do not need to dismantle or disconnect an appliance to request a repair.

01

Find the rating label.

Send the brand, complete model and serial number, plus a service number if shown. A clear label photograph helps distinguish similar-looking machines. Leave covers and fitted appliances in place.

02

Describe the last use.

Say what worked, what failed and which warning appeared. Include the programme or function selected. For a combined washer dryer, describe washing and drying separately.

03

Request your visit.

Give the full property postcode, fitted-access details and any parking or entry arrangements. The team checks the request, explains charges and confirms a Monday–Thursday visit where available.

What the enquiry covers

Existing appliances.
Practical repair decisions.

We consider breakdowns on suitable freestanding, integrated and built-in kitchen and laundry appliances. Model, fitted access, condition and parts availability determine the work that can be offered.

Appropriate replacements concern existing appliances. New installations are outside this service. A listed town or postcode is an enquiry route, with the actual request confirmed before a visit.

Check the scope first

Clear limits.
Fewer wrong bookings.

We exclude American-style fridge-freezers, compressor replacement, re-gassing and refrigerant-leak repairs. Heat-pump refrigerant-circuit work is also excluded. Cooking enquiries exclude gas leaks, supply, burner and ignition work. Boilers and water heaters need a separate service.

White-goods coverage excludes Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. Send your full postcode so coverage and the work can be checked together.

Before you book

Answers to the
practical questions.

How do I request cooking repairs for Brighton?

Use Book Online or call 0800 037 4915 with your full postcode, model and symptom. We check the service requested, fitted access and visit availability before confirming arrangements.

Which appliance brands can I enquire about?

We take suitable breakdown enquiries for Indesit, Hotpoint, Ariston and Hotpoint-Ariston domestic kitchen and laundry appliances. A Brassett Ltd is an independent service. The model, requested work and available parts determine whether a visit is appropriate.

Can an older Ariston appliance still be repaired?

Possibly. We first need the full model, the symptom and any access restrictions. We consider condition and suitable parts before recommending further work. An old badge is neither a reason to discard the appliance automatically nor a guarantee that repair will be possible.

Do you repair integrated appliances?

Suitable fitted models can be assessed. Tell us about the furniture door, plinth, stacking and access, and send photographs where helpful. Do not remove a heavy appliance or disconnect it simply to prepare your enquiry.

When are engineer visits arranged?

Our engineer visits run Monday to Thursday. The booking team confirms availability for the full property postcode, the requested work and a visit window. Submitting an online request does not by itself confirm an appointment.

How are repair charges agreed?

Ask the booking team to explain the visit charge and what it covers. Diagnosis may identify further work or parts; those costs should be discussed before proceeding. This page does not quote an unverified fixed repair price.

Are fault codes the same across these brands?

No compatibility should be assumed. Codes and component specifications can differ between appliance types and model generations. Copy the complete code and provide the model and serial details so the correct information can be checked.

What is outside the cooking and refrigeration service?

Gas leaks, supply faults, burner and ignition repairs are excluded. Refrigeration exclusions include American-style fridge-freezers, compressor replacement, re-gassing and refrigerant-leak work. State the fuel type or fridge model before booking.

Do you fit appliances as a new installation?

This service covers breakdown repairs and appropriate replacements of existing appliances. It does not offer new installations. Explain what is already fitted and what work you need so the request can be checked.

How can I request a repair?

Use Book Online or call 0800 037 4915. Have the brand, complete model, symptom and full postcode ready. Include an error-code photograph and fitted-access details where relevant; the team will confirm the next arrangements.

Does this cover Ariston boilers or water heaters?

No. This directory is for kitchen and laundry appliances. Heating and hot-water products need the appropriate separate service.
